The dasa shows how our karma is held in astrology. There are many systems in Dasa Vedic astrology which we can see karma place here on Earth. The most important is the system Vimshottari Dasa. It is a system which employs 120 years, where each planet rules a number of years, which is also broken down into sub periods from there. The sub-periods (called bhuktis) are in the same order and divided over the length dasa below. For example Ketu dasa starts with Ketu / Ketu, then Ketu / Venus, then Ketu / Sun, so very precise results are possible using this system Dasa karma to predict what will take place or when.
The planetary system in the Dasas Vimshottari Dasa take place in that order.
1. Ketu 7 years 2. Venus 20 years 3. Sun 6 years 4. Moon 10 years 5. March 7 years 6. Rahu 18 years 7. Jupiter-16 years 8. Saturn 19 years 9. Mercury 17 years

There are many speculations about why they are in that order. I have heard many theories and I love them all. There is a strange harmony this dasa order that seems to work. It is interesting to see dasa system as a microcosm of human life.
Dasa The system starts with Ketu, as is the planet where we are closer to God, where the soul is not yet rooted in the body as we have often observed among very young children. Ketu which is the dasa we become aware of everything that we do not need. Just as the child does breathtaking and a minimum of subsistence, beyond what is more important than substance. Relative of man aged 0-1 years Venus Dasa is when the baby is fed and cared for by Venus, nurture. Venus which is the dasa feeds fat baby. Hers is the longest dasa on Earth as we come here to learn to take care of each other in a body first. So this body needs care and courtesy, it is learning. This is the most important in our lives when our minds and our perception of the world are formed.
Relative of man 1 year 3 years
Sunday dasa shows the emergence of our identity, ready to shine its light, no longer feel the need to be supported by others. This necessary ego-Centricity enables a healthy sense of self to emerge, a healthy ego is where we feel empowered positively, others do not start beyond our borders or we run over them .
Relative human age 4-12 years
Dasa Moon is the need to connect this individual experience with others in a meaningful way. It is no longer sufficient to feel ourselves shine, we must learn to see ourselves as a reflection through the eyes and experiences of others and returned to us in society. We become sensitive as the awkward teenager in the Moon Dasa.
Relative of man age 13 - 19
Dasa March is when we learn to compete with others in the world and learn to make allies rather than enemies of our competitors, through courage and discipline of action, we test our principles in a world Consequently through the gregarious and raucous energy of the planet Mars.
Relative of man aged 20 - 27 years
Rahu world shows our life and material existence. With the exuberance of youth behind us, we are in the world, entangled in Maya and accumulation. Marriage, children, career and all the trappings of adult life of the world and its ability to sail our superior intelligence is the soul of Rahu Dasa.
Relative of man aged 28 - 40
Jupiter dasa is where we can resume our wisdom inherent Rahu short after us crazy! It is a moment where we feel our burden has been lightened or at least we feel in control of our mind. Jupiter is to provide insight, maturity and life lessons, as he is also Guru, teacher, so that we can share some of our wisdom with others.
Relative of man aged 40-55
Saturn dasa is when we are aware of our limitations and learn to be practical about them. After the enthusiasm of Jupiter, Saturn will return to Earth and make us face reality. The reality is not the optimism of Jupiter, it is cold hard facts of Saturn. These facts are the death of our body and the temporal nature of life all documents. Saturn will give us time to work through our karma in isolation.
Relative of man aged 55 - 65
Mercury is dasa where we can become like a child again, playful and non-judgmental, but through knowledge and clear thinking, not ignorance. After the cumbersome practice of Saturn our mind is clear and open and capable of discrimination, jnana yoga. Relative of man of 65 -?
